SAP ABAP Developer

What We Expect of You

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Development:

• Develop, test, and implement custom programs, interfaces, enhancements, forms, and reports using ABAP and related technologies.
• Lead full-cycle ABAP development from requirement gathering to post-implementation support.
• Design and optimize data models and logic for SAP HANA and S/4HANA environments.

Technical Expertise:

• Utilize modern ABAP tools such as ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, AMDP, and OData services.
• Develop and maintain SAP Fiori/UI5 applications and integrate them with back-end systems.
• Create custom APIs and integrate with external systems using REST, SOAP, or IDocs.
• Implement performance tuning and ensure code quality through rigorous testing and peer reviews.

Collaboration & Leadership:

• Collaborate with SAP functional consultants to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers.
• Participate in code reviews, enforce development standards, and promote best practices.
• Support project planning, effort estimation, and technical documentation.

System Maintenance & Support:

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex ABAP issues in production and test environments.
• Provide technical support during SAP system upgrades, migrations, and implementations.
• Ensure adherence to SAP development standards and IT governance policies.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience, including at least 2 years in SAP S/4HANA or ABAP on HANA environments.

Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in ABAP, ABAP OO, SmartForms, Adobe Forms, BAPIs, BADIs, and User Exits.
• Expertise in CDS Views, AMDP, OData Services, and Fiori integration.
• Solid understanding of SAP modules such as FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, and HR.
• Experience with SAP Workflow, ALE/IDocs, and performance optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git), DevOps tools, and SAP Cloud Platform is an advantage.
