What We Expect of You

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Batch Operator to join our IT Operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the efficient execution, monitoring, and support of batch jobs and schedules using Horizont tools. This role requires flexibility to work in shifts and provide on-call and weekend deployment support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute and monitor batch job schedules in accordance with operational procedures.
• Utilize Horizont tools such as XINFO, Procman, IWS WebAdmin, and SmartJCL for job scheduling, monitoring, and diagnostics.
• Provide on-call support to resolve batch job failures and system alerts outside regular business hours.
• Troubleshoot and escalate batch issues to appropriate teams while ensuring minimal business impact.
• Support morning and evening shifts, including weekend deployments as required.
• Maintain accurate job documentation and operational logs.
• Collaborate with application support and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless batch operations.
• Participate in batch job optimization and automation initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with German-speaking stakeholders and produce technical documentation in German as required.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Batch Operator or similar role in IT operations.
• Hands-on experience with Horizont tools:
• XINFO for job analysis and documentation.
• Procman for process management and job control.
• IWS WebAdmin (IBM Workload Scheduler) for job scheduling and monitoring.
• SmartJCL for JCL validation and quality assurance.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in a shift rotation and provide 24/7 support coverage.
• Familiarity with mainframe systems and job scheduling concepts is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• German language proficiency at B2 level or above is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ITIL Foundation certification.
• Experience in industries with high operational reliability standards (e.g., finance, telecom, or logistics).
