Commercial Experience
3+ years of professional Java development experience.
Java
Strong knowledge of Java 11+; understanding of OOP, collections, exceptions, concurrency basics and common design patterns.
Java EE / Jakarta EE
Practical experience with Java EE/Jakarta EE applications: JPA, CDI, REST/JAX-RS, Servlets; understanding of enterprise application architecture.
Frameworks
Experience with Spring / Spring Boot is highly desirable.
Application Servers
Experience with at least one enterprise Java runtime: WildFly/JBoss, WebSphere/Liberty, WebLogic, TomEE or similar.
APIs & Integration
REST APIs, JSON; understanding of SOAP/Web Services; basic knowledge of messaging (JMS/MQ/Kafka) is an advantage.
Databases
SQL and practical experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, DB2, MySQL or MS SQL.
Persistence
JPA/Hibernate or equivalent ORM experience.
Testing
Unit/integration testing with JUnit; Mockito or similar frameworks.
Build & SCM
Maven or Gradle; Git.
DevOps Basics
Understanding of CI/CD; experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or similar is desirable.
Containers
Basic practical knowledge of Docker; Kubernetes/OpenShift is a plus.
German
B2 or higher — able to participate in customer meetings, discuss requirements and technical topics, and communicate in writing.
English
B1+/B2 or higher — sufficient for technical documentation and international team communication.
Soft Skills
Ability to work independently on assigned development tasks, estimate work, perform code reviews, troubleshoot issues and communicate with customer/team members.
